Final Prep

I always get a little nervous about the distance of a Marathon. I know I have put in the work but a 26.2 mile run is a little different than say a 10k. I came across a quote that nails it on the head for the Marathon. "Marathoning is like cutting yourself unexpectedly. You dip into the pain so gradually that the damage is done before you are aware of it. Unfortunately, when awareness comes, it is excruciating." John Farrington, Australian marathoner. I ran my last mile of today's run at a 6.10, It felt good. My last two runs will come tomorrow (5 miles) and Friday(3 miles). I am just noticing that each wave is also sectioned off into corrals. I am in wave 1, corral 1 which is bib numbers 101-999. I would like to finish in the top 1000. That would be a good first Boston. In terms of media coverage, the Boston Marathon is the second biggest single-day sporting event in the U.S., just behind the Super Bowl. 500,000 spectators are expected to line the course in 2011. The temperature looks fine to me (41-55). The Village will be a little chilly waiting on the start but I got some good stuff for that. (Thanks Bryan Lagg). Mississippi has plenty of representation. I will not go into all the names but you can find them on www.baa.org. Good luck to each of you! For tracking the runners as they run the race on Monday, you can go to www.baa.org and put in there name and it will show how they are doing each 5k I think. My number is 699. I will not point no fingers but if the race starts at 10am, you can start tracking at 9am. Yes, folks Boston is an hour ahead :) As far as the picture, dont know I just like it!
